In the past, life required that we spent much of the day with our bodies actively engaged in motion. Our current society, with all of its modern conveniences, enables us to lead much more sedentary lives - to the detriment of our health and well-being. With the many priorities of everyday life it’s easy to adopt a non-active lifestyle, but it’s also easy to incorporate activity and movement into our daily lives. The human body didn’t evolve to sit for hours at a time, day after day - we evolved to move.

Hi, I’m Rosemary Chengson, welcome to my website. I’ve always enjoyed exercise but I’m not a naturally gifted athlete, I’m just a regular person. I swam on community swim teams as a child, and as a teenager I took up running and commuted to part-time jobs on my bicycle. After I graduated from college and started working at my first “real” job I faced the reality that so many others face: how to fit in time to exercise! I knew how good exercising made me feel so I made it a priority, and exercising has been the one constant in my life. It has brought me great comfort while going through challenging times. Being physically active has also increased confidence in my abilities which carries over into other aspects of life. After years as a “desk jockey” I decided to pursue my true passion and became certified as a Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. I want to help others gain confidence in their ability to set and achieve their health and fitness goals. I am located in Oakland, California. Please contact me if you’d like a consultation.
